Mike Heck provides an update on his most recent guide outing on the Yellow Breeches.
Ben John and I, also known as the “Dynamic Duo” have had the great pleasure to guide Dick Wills group of eight guys for a second time this year. Dick and I spoke and I told him things are low and clear, but we have trout water to fish. These were the only dates all the guys could get together to fish. So, like last time we took four out in the morning and switched to the other four for the afternoon after a nice meat & cheese platter with crackers and chips along with drinks.
Just like the last trip, we had a great time. It was sunny, hot and humid both days. The water was low, clear and 64 degrees. Most of the guys fished with dry/droppers, but we did find a few situations that Ben and I had rods ready for double nymphs set off indicators. The group had a bunch of action and landed some wild browns and a few big leftover stocked trout. In two days of fishing, we probably caught around 20 trout. We have one day left to fish. I will be out in the morning with two guys and Ben has two during the afternoon. They are already planning for a spring trip with us.
Ben and I through Precision Fly and Tackle can offer special group rates with multiple day trips both for the guiding and your stay at the Airbnb located in Mt. Holly. Give us a call and set up a great fly fishing trip. As for guiding, the weather is getting cool and trout are biting. In September, I have the 19th through 21st and the 26th to 28th open for any last minute trips.
