The scud is a pattern that is usually never at the front of the line when it comes to popular patterns that fly anglers use. However, if you are fishing many of the limestone spring creeks we have in the area, scuds are a must have in your fly box. Scuds come in a multitude of colors and sizes. Here, Wayne Samson ties an olive scud that works well in just about any tailwater or spring creek you would find scuds inhabiting.
